It is the time to express my gratitude and sincere thanks to all concern, the project beneficiaries, donors, partners, members of staff and the government departments for their whole hearted support to CHITTRA UNNAYAN SANGSTHA (CUS) in fulfilling it’s commitment and promises to its constituencies. CHITTRA UNNAYAN SANGSTHA (CUS) was established in 1997 and initiated it’s socioeconomic development mission in the southern coastal region of Bangladesh for the deprived community centering its activities in Chitalmary, Mollarhat, Fakirhat, Bagerhat Sadar, Morrelgonj, Sharonkhola, Mongla Rampal Upazilas & Thana under Bagerhat district of Khulna Division in Bangladesh the leadership of a group of efficient, young, energetic and dedicated activists. The initiation was with the Micro-finance, Education and Handicraft program.

Over the period of time CHITTRA UNNAYAN SANGSTHA (CUS) has initiated the integrated program and projects for poor and disadvantaged people in the programming areas of in Chitalmary, Mollarhat, Fakirhat, Bagerhat Sadar, Morrelgonj, Sharonkhola, Mongla Rampal Upazilas & Thana under Bagerhat district of Khulna Division in Bangladesh.

Since the very beginning the organization has been playing leading role in the field of Micro Trade, Development, Education, Health, Water and Sanitation, Environmental Conservation, Handcraft, Training, Integrated Agricultural Development etc. so as to ensure the overall socio-economic development of south-western Bangladesh.

CHITTRA UNNAYAN SANGSTHA (CUS) also planned a number of innovative and pro-poor focused projects for the years ahead. CHITTRA UNNAYAN SANGSTHA (CUS) Education & Palm Tree Plantation program is the most popular and successful project in the field of sector in Bangladesh. All other programs including the micro trade, water & sanitation, agro-product marketing, wetland conservation and management, goat rearing, education & training, fish culture, rural knowledge center, community product marketing, agro-product development are also found very relevant to address the needs of the poor and marginalized.

I wish all of our activities would have better contribution in the lives of the poor people of Bangladesh and success of our efforts to support the government program to make Bangladesh a hunger free, non-discriminative socio-economic and political environment for the common people.
